Brazilian club’s Santos FC is the most-traded football fan token, with a daily average trading volume of $17.2 million in October 2022.
Brazilian club’s Santos FC Fan Token (SANTOS) has the highest trading volume, with a daily average trading volume of $17.2 million in October 2022. Despite being a considerably smaller league as compared to larger European ones, Santos FC also has the largest fan token by market capitalization, coming in at $1.7 billion at the end of October.
Coming in second is FC Porto’s Fan Token (PORTO), with $15.5 million in trading volume, followed by Lazio (LAZIO), at $12.5 million in trading volume through October 2022.
Argentine Football Association is the only National Team at the FIFA World Cup 2022, within the Top 15
Despite being days away from kickoff, trading volumes for national football teams have been rather muted. Out of the top 15 football fan tokens, only one belongs to a national team participating at the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022 – the Argentine Football Association (AFA). Even then, it ranks rather low, coming in at 12th place with $920k in daily trading volume.
Italian League Serie A has the most Football Fan Tokens
Breaking down the top 15 football tokens by the league they play in, Italian League Serie A teams dominate the rankings with 6 out of 15 football tokens. Clubs playing in Italy’s top-flight receive the most support in terms of daily trading volume, with 40% of the top 15 being Italian.
Other major football leagues pale in comparison to Serie A’s dominance in the football fan token landscape. La Liga (Spanish league), and Brasileiro Série A (Brazilian league) were each represented by two clubs. Meanwhile the English and French top-flights had only one club each, namely Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain.
Interestingly, football clubs in the German league Bundesliga have no fan tokens. This has resulted in it having no representatives in the rankings.
