What is TomoChain?
TomoChain is a scalable L1 blockchain that uses an innovative consensus method called Proof of Stake Voting (PoSV).
TomoChain has low fees and a confirmation time of only two seconds. TomoChain can currently process 2000 transactions per second (TPS). Ethereum, in the meanwhile, can only support up to 15 transactions per second.
The TomoChain uses an enhanced Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). As such, existing Ethereum projects can port over to TomoChain with ease.
What is Proof of Stake Voting (PoSV)?
Token holders need to deposit 50,000 TOMO to become a Masternode Candidate, and users can delegate votes to any of the candidates. Masternode Candidates that received the most votes are selected to create blocks within a period, called an epoch.
Each Masternode creates blocks in a round-robin manner every two seconds and follows the double validation technique for security reinforcement. A block is finalized if 75% of the Masternodes sign it off. Masternodes that produced the blocks receive rewards, alongside the voters who voted for those Masternodes.
What is Double Validation?
When a Masternode creates a block, another randomly chosen Masternode will verify it. Double validation strengthens security, reduces forks, and makes TomoChain unique among other Proof-of-Stake-based blockchains.
