Tomorrow (Wednesday, July 15 @ 10AM EST), CoinGecko will be hosting our Virtual Meetup # 4. CoinGecko Virtual Meetup is our live online community event where we explore different key topics in the crypto sphere and invite industry leaders to share their two satoshis.
This time, we will be exploring cybersecurity and its importance for both users and crypto exchanges. With that, we will be talking to the key leader Dyma Budorin, CEO of Hacken Group. Hacken is a leading cybersecurity group working on corporate, individual, and crypto exchanges’ cybersecurity. Established in 2017, Hacken has since become the global security partner of companies such as Vechain, Oneledger, AirAsia and many more.
Tell us a bit about yourself
My name is Dyma Budorin, and I am CEO the co-founder of Hacken Group. I was building a successful career at Deloitte for 8 years before I fell in love with the crypto industry back in 2017. I am passionate about cybersecurity, audits and have zero tolerance to frauds and scams.
My main task in the crypto industry is to provide unbiased, quality and independent information about products, especially cryptocurrency exchanges to end-users. There are so many unethical players in our market and I am sure that this is the main stoppage factor for crypto mass adoption. The Hacken team and I work routine is built around this mission.
How did the idea of your company come about?
Before entering the blockchain industry we have already created a cybersecurity consulting company. We wanted to share our expertise and prevent as many hacks as possible in the high-risk blockchain industry.
Since 2017, we have been releasing 1 product every year that helps crypto projects, enterprises and individuals stay safe in this rapidly developing digital world. Today Hacken Group consist of:
Hacken.io - B2B cybersecurity consulting company with an essential focus on blockchain and crypto exchanges security
CER.live - cryptocurrency exchanges ranking and CERtification platform
Hackenproof.com - Crowdsource security bug bounty platform with 3,000 white hat hackers working on it
Hacken.ai - Your personal cyberguard, individual cybersecurity application.
What project(s) are you up to lately?
Currently, our biggest achievement is the start of cooperation with CoinGecko for cryptocurrency exchanges cybersecurity score. This partnership has raised exchanges attention to invest in their clients’ cybersecurity. Even though it is hard to measure, we are absolutely sure that this would lead to hack accidents decrease and will save crypto enthusiasts funds.
We will continue to focus on improving our metrics and will do regular investigations for crypto exchanges security.
What advice would you give our readers to improve their personal cybersecurity?
Lots of people think that proper cybersecurity set up comes with inconveniences. In fact, it is the complete opposite – if you start using password managers. For example, if a person uses one password for various accounts, then he is an easy target of black hat hackers. The first thing they do when trying to hack a person, they check his email for password breach in leaked databases, that are widely accessible nowadays. My first recommendation is to check right now your emails if they were leaked. You can do it at https://haveibeenpwned.com or https://hacken.ai/darknetmon
Join us at CoinGecko Virtual Meetup this Wednesday (15 July 2020) to learn whether crypto exchanges are doing enough for their cybersecurity.
