What is Astroport about?

Astroport is a decentralized exchange designed for Terra 2.0 and Terra Classic, aimed at enhancing pricing and trade efficiency. Following strong community support for Terra 2.0, the Astroport smart contract system was redeployed on the new network, and astroport.fi was updated to ensure compatibility with both the new Astroport instance and the existing one on Terra Classic. Astroport offers users the flexibility to choose between different pool types within a single AMM system, enabling permissionless onboarding and trading of tokens. The ASTRO token, native to Terra 2.0, serves as the governance and fee-receiving token when staked as xASTRO. By staking ASTRO, users can participate in governance and earn a share of fees. A total of 100 million ASTRO tokens will be distributed during the first year after Astroport's launch on Terra 2.0.
