Which Hashtags are Most Popular on TikTok Crypto?
The most popular hashtag among the TikTok crypto community is #crypto, which has 4 million posts that have hit a combined 30 billion views. This makes #crypto more popular than other finance-related hashtags on TikTok, including #finance (1M posts, 16B views), #investing (2M posts, 14B views), #forex (2M posts, 7B views) and #stocks (1M posts, 10B views). Even #trading has recorded fewer views of 25 billion, despite having 8 million posts.
The longer term #cryptocurrency is less common, but has still been used on 2 million posts with 10 billion views. TikTok-native hashtag #cryptok, which combines ‘crypto’ with ‘TikTok’, made it into the top 15 rankings with 2 billion views on 0.32 million posts.
#nft, #metaverse, #nfts, #defi and #blockchain are also highly popular on TikTok crypto, racking up billions of views each. Although general topics accounted for 8 of the top 15 hashtags, other sectors’ hashtags are currently less popular, such as #web3 (200K posts, 1B views) and #playtoearn (61K posts, 531M views).
#metaverse and #defi have an especially high ratio of views to posts, suggesting that there is more interest than content for these topics. There are around 14,164 views for every #metaverse post, and around 12,195 views for every #defi post on TikTok. In comparison, the other top hashtags have 2,820 to 8,048 views for every 1 post. This might indicate a potential opportunity for crypto marketers of metaverse and DeFi projects to create TikTok content.
What are the Top Crypto on TikTok?
Bitcoin is the most popular crypto asset on TikTok Crypto, with 5 million posts totalling 28 billion views on #bitcoin and #btc. This means Bitcoin has more than twice the Ethereum content on TikTok, and triple the views. #eth and #ethereum have a combined 1.81 million posts and 8 billion views.
Alongside Bitcoin and Ethereum, Dogecoin’s #dogecoin and Ripple’s #xrp are the only crypto assets ranked among the 15 most popular hashtags on TikTok crypto. All 4 are also currently in the top 10 coins by market capitalization.
While #xrp has around 0.01 million more posts than #dogecoin, the meme coin has outpaced it with 1 billion more views.
Meanwhile, #binance is the only non-token branded hashtag ranking in the top 15 on TikTok crypto.

Europe accounts for 14 of the top 15 TikTok crypto countries, with 10 being European Union (EU) member states. This suggests that crypto marketers should use TikTok to reach the European market, given their strong interest in the most popular TikTok crypto hashtags.
Morocco is the only non-European country among the 15 countries most interested in TikTok crypto.
