Fully Diluted Valuation
Fully Diluted Valuation (FDV) = Current Price x Total Supply
Fully Diluted Valuation (FDV) is the theoretical market capitalization of a coin if the entirety of its supply is in circulation, based on its current market price. The FDV value is theoretical as increasing the circulating supply of a coin may impact its market price. Also depending on the tokenomics, emission schedule or lock-up period of a coin's supply, it may take a significant time before its entire supply is released into circulation. About Stellar
Stellar is an open-source, decentralized network designed to facilitate the fast and low-cost transfer of value across different currencies and assets globally.
-
The platform utilizes Anchors, which are trusted entities that hold deposits and issue credits to bridge traditional money with the digital network.
-
It features a built-in distributed exchange, a system that allows users to trade different types of assets directly without a central intermediary.
-
The network is supported by the Stellar Development Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding financial access to underserved populations.
What Is Stellar
Stellar provides a global infrastructure for payments that connects banks, payment systems, and individuals. Value moves through the system by converting any currency into XLM, the native token, which acts as an intermediary to find the most efficient exchange path. The XLM token is put to work to prevent network spam by requiring a small fee for every transaction and a minimum balance for every account. The ecosystem scales through its ability to handle thousands of transactions per second, ensuring high throughput, the total amount of data processed by the network in a given time, as more institutions join the network.
What Makes Stellar Unique
-
Use of the Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP), which allows the network to reach agreement without the high energy costs of traditional mining.
-
Ability to issue and trade any type of asset, including fiat currencies, gold, or other cryptocurrencies, as digital tokens on a single ledger.
-
Direct integration with Anchors, providing seamless on-ramps and off-ramps between the blockchain and the traditional banking system.
-
A focus on financial inclusion, the effort to provide affordable financial services to people who lack access to traditional banks.
What Can You Use Stellar for?
-
Sending cross-border payments in seconds with near-zero transaction fees.
-
Developing and deploying smart contracts, self-executing agreements with the terms written directly into code, through the Soroban platform.
-
Creating and managing tokenized real-world assets (RWA), which are physical or traditional financial assets represented as digital tokens.
-
Accessing decentralized finance services such as peer-to-peer lending and automated asset trading.
How Does Stellar Work?
Stellar operates using a Federated Byzantine Agreement (FBA), a method where nodes, or individual computers in the network, choose a set of other trusted nodes to agree on the state of the ledger. Transactions are grouped into sets and validated every few seconds, ensuring fast finality, the point at which a transaction is considered permanent and cannot be reversed. Unlike other systems, there is no inflation, the steady increase in the supply of money over time, as the network voted to disable the automatic creation of new tokens to maintain a stable supply.
Team Info and Investors
Stellar was co-founded in 2014 by Jed McCaleb, who also co-founded Ripple and Mt. Gox, and Joyce Kim, a former lawyer. The project is managed by the Stellar Development Foundation (SDF), currently led by CEO Denelle Dixon. The foundation received early funding from the payments company Stripe and has since grown through a decentralized model. Rather than relying on traditional venture capital, the network is sustained by a global community of validators and developers who contribute to its open-source code.
